Dismay

I’ve been struggling a bit to come up with ideas for this project and I spend a bit of time with Janne simply brainstorming and we came up with some good ideas, but I couldn’t quite see them properly in my head yet and I need a bit more time to visualize how I would set them up before shooting them. Today, though, I had this idea about dismay and disillusionment and thought about how it happens when you feel like your hopes and dreams are over and how that was like the death of those hopes and dreams. We all want love and joy in our lives and our hopes and dreams help keep those things alive and make us believe that our life is worthwhile.

So, I instead of a new shoot, I post-processed something already shot and I hope you enjoy it.

Inspiration

Inspiration. The human condition. Early this summer, we have been given a violin and all I’ve done with it so far is use it as a prop. But it is lovely. It’s all nicked and bruised and I have to clean it up each time, but that’s alright, it’s a violin and not everyone has one.  I also have an old calligraphy pen that I’ve had forever; okay, not forever but so long ago that I cannot even remember when I got it. It’s at least 20 years old. It also had scratches and nicks but in the end, I’m happy with the final image.  I hope it inspires you too!

Exploration

As humans, we are curious and have a thirst for knowledge and exploration. This is my attempt at showing that with a whimsical little paper boat I made set on a page from a world atlas as the waters it will roam.  I actually had to google how to make a paper boat as I don’t think I’ve ever made one. I had to make quite a few because they were always much too big to fit on my old atlas page but I didn’t have a good idea how small to go. Too small and the point is lost,  too big and that is all you see and I wanted to include plenty of night sky.  Of course this image is a composite. The paper boat was done tonight but the sky the clouds was done at the end of September and is actually the harvest moon.  I liked how the clouds made me think of the universe and all that is beyond and it felt appropriate here as most of the earth has now been explored, that is the next stage. I hope you enjoy this, it was fun to create.
